Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen is perhaps the most photographed city in Morocco, and for good reason. Every street, doorway, and staircase in its medina is painted in shades of blue—ranging from pale sky to deep indigo. Legend says the color was introduced by Jewish refugees to symbolize heaven, while others say it keeps mosquitoes away. Beyond its aesthetic charm, Chefchaouen offers a slower pace of life.
